Artists & Musicians
I started working with Stephan Roelofs after I finished my artist-in-residence program at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam.
He has proven to be a successful, helpful and professional representative. I appreciate his interest in the contemporary arts and all the consultancy he provided for me for several years. He is timely, well-organized and has guided me through the entire immigration process. Everything has gone smoothly and precisely. I would not hesitate to use his services in the future. I fully trust him in solving legal immigration issues and obtaining visas for artists.
Emre Huner | Visual Artist - Turkey
After graduating from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague years ago, I found myself deeply integrated in Dutch society.
However, finding a way to legally stay in The Netherlands as an independent artist, seemed too complex to even consider. Acquiring the representation of Stephan Roelofs cleared the fog within minutes! He opened my eyes to my rights and options, and within weeks, successfully acquired my residence permit, which I hold to this day. In the following years, Stephan Roelofs has become my “go to” expert for everything to do with immigration. And among other things, he obtained residence permits for my wife and daughter. In every step of the way, Stephan has provided timely, faithful and friendly service. And more importantly, he provided his invaluable expertise in accurately and safely navigating the complexities of Dutch immigration law.
Roi Nachshon | Composer - Israel
It was a stroke of luck that I was able to work with Susanne Mooij, thanks to my expat friend’s recommendation, who had earlier received her permit through Susanne.
Her kind consideration when defining legal details and her warm personal care will secure your peace in mind. It was a relief to experience her incredible wealth of knowledge, when it comes to the ever-changing immigration laws of Holland. Recently, I've also recommended Susanne’s guidance to one of my colleagues to gain her Freelance Artist Visa. Susanne specializes in helping you achieve your goals.
Yongdeok Lim | Visual Artist - South Korea
I am an artist from Bangkok, Thailand. After graduating with a Master in Design from the Sandberg Instituut, Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, I applied for a Freelance Artist Visa through the legal services of Stephan Roelofs.
Stephan is easy to talk to, and very professional in providing specific procedures for acquiring visas for artistic professions. He explained the process very clearly, which made it easier for me to deal with the unfamiliar legal requirements. The process went smoothly. I successfully received my permit. I have already recommended several colleagues, who are also in the art field, for his services. They appreciate his understanding of the artistic nature, when dealing with IND requirements and his ability to tailor his advice accordingly.
Nuankhanit Phromchanya | Artist & Visual Researcher - Thailand
When I began the Netherlands immigration process to expand my classical singing career, Stephan Roelofs was invaluable. Dutch immigration laws are complex and change frequently. Navigating the rules and requirements can be terribly daunting.
With his help, I had absolute confidence that I was doing everything in my power to ensure a positive outcome. He provided expert assistance in preparing my materials and monitoring the progress of my application straight through to the happy ending. Working with him ensured peace of mind in a very fraught and stressful bureaucratic process. I cannot recommend his services highly enough. They made all the difference.
Katharine Dain | Soprano - U.S.A.
With a student visa, I studied in one of the art schools in The Netherlands.
With the assistance of Stephan Roelofs, I was able to obtain my Freelance Artist Visa. He also successfully helped four friends to obtain residency stay permission. Brilliant work. I would recommend the help of Stephan Roelofs to anyone who wants to immigrate to The Netherlands.
Vika Mitrichenko | Sculptor & Ceramist - Belarus
In 2007, after my studies at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, I was uncertain if I would be allowed to stay in The Netherlands.
I am a visual artist, and I work as a full-time freelance artist. I was introduced to Susanne Mooij, who assisted me in completing a portfolio, and presenting it to the IND. Thus, I was able to obtain a Freelance Artist Visa. A few years later, she helped me obtain my Dutch nationality. I became Dutch along with my daughter, to whom I gave birth to in 2011, in Lebanon. In 2016, my husband and I decided that he would join us in Holland. We are now very happy that the three of us are united, here in The Netherlands!
Mounira Al Solh | Visual Artist - Lebanon
I immigrated from Argentina after finishing my degree in Philosophy. I came to The Netherlands to study Art at the KBAK in The Hague. After I finished, I decided I wanted to stay and continue developing my career here.
I was misinformed about immigration requirements, over and over, by the IND. No one had told me that a Freelance Artist Visa case is considered a special case, and that it is not only one’s income that matters. I literally felt helpless and disoriented until I met Stephan. I had never met with an immigration lawyer before. How could I evaluate if he was a good lawyer or not? I just needed to trust somebody. We had a short talk in which I told him about my life. Right away, he explained what the priorities were and that he thought that I had a good chance of getting the residency permit. I have no idea whether my case was easy or if Stephan made magic. The only thing I know is that he was clear, precise in his instructions, and that it worked. So I am very happy with his service and with my future life in The Netherlands.
Florencia Reznik | Performance & Video Artist - Argentina
After completing my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague, I was interested in staying longer in The Netherlands to live and work as a musician.
I understood that the first year of application for the Freelance Artist Visa needed to be done properly, so I decided to hire a lawyer to handle my case. I knew of other musicians who hadn’t succeeded at this particular hurdle. I had heard of Stephan Roelofs via a friend's good recommendation, and so contacted him directly. Our first meeting put my mind at ease. I left feeling clear about what was required from me and about my path towards completing the application. In the end, the application was successful. Stephan even went out of his way to clear a last minute hurdle from the IND. I recommend his services wholeheartedly to those looking to navigate the maze of immigration laws.
John Ma | Baroque Violinist - Australia
I came to Amsterdam to study art. After I had completed my study, I wanted to remain in The Netherlands, but I didn't know how to organize it legally.
At that moment, I met Susanne. Through her assistance, I managed to receive a Freelance Artist Visa. "Dank je wel Susanne" and I would recommend her to any artist who wants to remain in The Netherlands.
